Most of the time you will see 430-450rwtq peak from the NF cam. I wouldn't sell it short as a Torque cam. It also maintains stock torque ratings in the lower rpms.

I must admit I have not been able to compare dyno graphs as there just arent enough out there readily available on some of the cams smaller than the NF, and I have not had time to dig for it.

I also would like greater than stock torque in the lower RPMs, but I think that may require a smaller than stock cam even.

I have the tsp 235/239/644/112 with full bolt ons on my ls3 manual. 478 to the rear/422 torque and mine is a daily driver. My tuner did a very good job and I am very pleased over all. I average 16/17 combo mainly city, and 23 mpgs on a trip from north east ohio to baytown (houston) tx. It sounds incredible, gets tons on compliments every time I drive it, and pulls like a champ on top end. There is no way I could go stock again after driving it.

It does have the big cam surge (bucking) at parking lot speeds but trust me you would adjust and find its not that bad to deal with.

Our 545 cam is a very popular daily-driven cam by many of our customers. Great dyno numbers across the board, feels punchy on the street, and on top of that has great street manners once tuned also.

We just added a new LS3 cam as well, slightly larger, still has great driveability! That would be our Phoenix Cam - link.

Drivabilty is different for everyone. Seams like people in Texas either have no traffic or can tolerate bigger Cams.We have cars come here from Texas( bought) and a lot have big cams and drive like poop. The original owners say they drive great. Up here in bumper to bumper traffic it bring's out the low rpm problems.

So, to each there own.

I am not interested in the NF for my DD, because as you also said, I am more interested in low end power and TQ gains rather than peak HP.

I recently submitted my cam sheet to Pat G for a custom spec cam, and told him I wanted as close to 450 RWTQ as possible, and wanted a chop like the 229/236 cam and/or the Vengeance VRSP 2 cam.
Let me know when you get your build/cam back from Pat G . I'm interested in seeing your results.

You gotta really try and lug it at low rpm to get any buck.

I going to recommend you get the biggest dang cam you can fit in there
Its all about overlap , the more the harder to get the tune right .
*I* would not want more than 4-5° for a DD .

love my .639/.623 cam none better....made 491 hp and 448 torque on a mustang dyno with just a good hp tune, CAI and headers with cats. I have dual mode though and electric power steering in a 13..... Its numbers on a mustang dyno beat the nightfarty ............... remember the idle on the car has to go up to 900 rpm!!! that's due ot the increased lift of the new cam,( or you buying a weak stock like lower lift cam around the .550 area is our stock cams lift), then you have to learn just to not lug it and go to about 1500 rpm if you want a good max power cammed car. ANd city driving of course is a game of let clutch in let clutch out over 1500 rpm...then coast out of gear..... lets face it manuals suck in traffic jams for long periods of time, but hey revving it up a little more makes really not much difference in a bumper to bumper jam. also read up on LSA the wider the LSA the more drivable the lower the LSA the more peak power... mine is 112 LSA

Been daily driving my Camaro with PCM of NC's 545 Cam since 46k miles, and now I have 55k miles with a Procharger D1SC with no issues.
