On that note, the 2018 1.5T model is actually a smidge faster than the outgoing 2.4L model according to MotorTrend. So...

My parents' Terrain is a 2.4L and it's slow to me, but my personal car is a 4.2L I-6, my work truck is a 4.6L V8, and our patrol cars are 5.7L V8s. They find it adequate for their needs.

didn't they drop like 400lbs and make it a bit smaller? it's just a fail of an engine for that car either way

0-60 time is more or less in line with the rest of the compact CUV class.

These are soccer mom-mobiles, not sports cars. The primary target buyer doesn't care if it's fast as long as it gets good FE and transports the kids and their gear.

And again, at the end of the day if you're that concerned about your crossover being slow, all the manufacturers offer some sort of uplevel engine choice.

yeah, I didn't know about the 2.0T that should be the base, imo. I know it's not a sports car, but reading reviews of normal people, they all say that's the downfall. also, their commercials suggest it's not targeting soccer moms, but everyone.
