It's been awhile since I had to do a compression test, completly forgot about doing it at WOT. Mine was cold, turned over about 5 times and got that reading. I will do a WOT one tomorrow to see if it's different.

Also about your worry with the oil. Just drain some into a clean jug with a funnel so you can reuse it

Small update. I was able to rule out that this was a dyno issue in any way. My tuner snapped a pic for me today. He had a 2013 M6 car come in with headers, cai, and a TSP stage 2 cam with stock heads

That car has me beat EVERYWHERE in the curve, and really pulls away once the revs come up. Peak was 484/487. I am the lower of both curves. Interesting this car peaks just before 5900rpm though. I would have guessed a bit higher.

Also note that this car has torque swings in the exact same spots as mine. So that really might just be the way this mustang dyno loads the car up.

Either way, it definitely appears my set up has a lot more potential than it's showing. Just gotta find my restriction.

That is one happy dyno, that torque is quite high, hes got nearly 50lbs more Tq than my setup with a stage 3 cam. Which cam did he go with?

That is one trashed up dyno and no hes not getting 490rwtq. Go somewhere else. 5900 peak..LOLL not even close. Should peak at 6400-6500 with stage 2, at least.

Heres the dyno sheet directly from TSP site their old and new stage 2.

There is something wrong with that dyno. The accelerometer that takes measurements must be F'd up or something. How a tuner/dyno operator could look at those torque curves and think that is normal is beyond me, kinda sucks but atleast you know your shit is not abnormal.

Nothing major yet. I checked the rest of the cylinders and all of them are pretty much the same. Only deviates 1-2 PSI in either direction. So not helpful other than letting me know I don't have like a dead cylinder or anything..but wasn't expecting that or it wouldn't run well I imagine.

Have been gathering a few things. Getting ready to pull the timing cover and do a visual inspection first. I guess if the cam is not noticeably off, it'll be time to learn how to degree one.

Hope to possibly start working on it tomorrow evening, actually. I will update if I find anything abnormal.

Also, even if there is a dyno issue causing weird numbers, aren't they mostly just a tuning tool anyhow? I trust the car is safe to drive, regardless of RWHP numbers.

That said, while he's been tuning for a long time, the dyno is somewhat recent. So, I haven't seen a whole lot of similar things coming off of it to compare to.

And the next closest dyno that I know of is like 300 miles away. So not like I can pop over there real quick to see the numbers/curve elsewhere

Yes, just as long as the fuel air mixture is correct and the timing is ok (meaning there is no knock from too much timing) it is fine. Hell some great tuners dont even need a dyno, they just do it driving and data logging. Its just nice to know how you shit stacks up to everyone else.

Just to put it out there my great tuners dyno of my stage three TSP cam years ago show unsmoothed to show problem areas as should be.... with correct SAE correction factor and remote weather station on a mustang dyno tuned with HP tuning...just for comparison...

He tunes very well, no timing pulled etc and two electrical engineering degrees, the car was a 13 m-6 with dual mode CAI with scoop and SP headers and hfc..... so yes a happy dyno as a tuning tool...not so good.

I see your mods in the sig, what kind of power are you making now? What made you change to all that?
