The SS were built for only one reason; to fit NASCAR's mold.
NASCAR finally loosened up and now have Camaros and Mustangs. So the SS has been discontinued.

Denzel Washington drives an SS in The Equalizer II and moonlights for Lyft. He uses the SS to beat up a bad guy in the back seat while whipping around corners, stomping back and forth between the gas and the brakes, and bouncing off parked cars.

I'm with the rest of you on the beauty of the 5th Gen. I get some kind of compliment, thumbs up, nod of approval, etc. almost every day. Like many of you have said, more important is the smile on my own face every time I look at my car. :-)

There is nothing like seeing a 10 year old 5th Gen that's been taken care of and driven.

I always look for chick-lets and back-up sensors.

That's mine. I left the chicklts on and I have NO back up sensors. Mine was built on 8/4/09
and I never see another detailed early build 5th gen on the road.

No kidding! Mine was built on 8/3/09! Ours were likely in the factory at the same time.

Cool. my vin is 132351. That can pin it down as they were built in sequence
at the time. Mine would have been built much earlier, but i insisted on Summit
White which was a delayed color.

Exactly. I try to clean and wax at least one or two body panels
every week. I've been lucky, as in 10 years I don't have even one
scratch, parking lot ding and no more than a couple paint chips.

That's awesome and these kind of cars turn my head more than anything these days. Very rare to see now days.

Mine's 131897, only 454 before yours. I'm not the original owner, but aqua blue metallic was only produced on the early cars. There's very few that ended up with back up sensors.

My vin is 25XXX. Mine is well kept. 32k mi. Paint chips to be expected. Maybe 1 ding as I paid to get most out. But the car looks brand new. 10yrs old still turns heads. Colr has a lot to do with it. Built July 09. Can’t remember exact date? I think it’s 7th, 17th or 27th?

Just had mine at the tire shop getting new wheels and rubber. Looks galore and one young man was mouthing "holy $hit!" as it rolled in. It's always detailed as it hardly leaves the garage.

They actually asked me to drive it in and back it out as they didn't want to get the interior dirty.

Side note: it was interesting to see them calibrate the new TPMS sensors with the scan tool.
