Low Voltage Issues

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on Camaro5, so i'm pretty oblivious to how this works. I apologize if I am not posting in the proper section. I have been browsing the forum for quite some time now, trying to see if anyone has come across the same issue that I am having. After recently supercharging my Camaro, I have been having voltage issues. My 2015 SS Camaro use to show between 13.5-14.2 on the voltage display, but it dips as low as 11.0 volts now. The battery is original, so I went ahead and started with that. I am still having issues. I thought it may be possible that the alternator is going out.The other day, the car went into "batter saver" mode, which I have never seen before. Some days the voltage is good, other days it drops so low that I cannot start the car without a jump after I shut it off. My best guess is that the alternator is failing and drawing power from the battery, but I honestly have no clue. Any thoughts or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No belt slip. I checked all grounds as well. I'm not sure what's going on. Never had an issues prior to supercharger install. I thought maybe the damper and extra pulley may be putting more load on it, but I honestly don't know much about this stuff :(

Sounds like a ground wire or other connection was either not reinstalled correctly or missed entirely. Check at the battery with a multimeter with the car running, should always have 12.5 or higher while idling, regardless if factory accessories turned on or off.

I'll go over everything again when I get a chance and check the battery with a multimeter. Thanks for the help. Ill update once i've done that!

Check the ground that goes from the passenger-side head to the frame. Both ends have to be tight/clean

Thanks everyone. I went back over everything and it ended up being the ground wire for the alternator

Thank you for posting that you found the issue, what it was and that you fixed it. Way to many people neglect to do so.

So.. problem was "solved" for a couple of hours. All grounds still appear to be good. Alternator ground is still secure as well. The car pretty much runs fine when it wants to. I drove for about 20 minutes today and it stayed around 13.8v-14.1v. After shutting the car off for about 15 minutes and starting it back up, car was reading 12.3v. By the time I got home it was down to 11.7v. One thing I noticed is that the lume around the alternator ground looks pretty burnt up.

One last thing.. The car didn't act up like this until I dropped down to the smallest pulley on my supercharger, which is 2 sizes down from what I originally had. Forgive my ignorance, but could the smaller pulley be playing a part in voltage drop? Thanks again.

Probably only if you got the wrong size belt and are getting major slippage.
