Stall converter

on a bolt on L99 with the 6L80E. would an aftermarket stall change anything (drivability/anything else) other than the obvious launching and loading up the suspension from a stop?

No different at all on the highway as the converter is locked at that point. It's actually one of the best bangs for your buck as far as mods go. I put my convertor in 6 to 8 months before I ever did the cam. Loved it

mlee speaks the truth.

Traction dependant of course, but .5-.7 seconds reduction in 1/4 mile ET with the right one.

actually, if you buy a lighter than stock converter the acceleration is better at any speed, in any gear.

cruising at like 60mph and then going WOT, a bigger aftermarket converter will flash higher which is good thing IMO but if you go too big, it will drive through the converter until it locks up.

Mine drives good, but I had the trans recently retuned after I came up with a list of small action items.
