IMO, Both of them look good either way! From the rear, the C7 looks like a Camaro Batmobile! j/k

The vent is addressed by a 1.5 cm panel gap that will look absolutely terrible once installed.

Not only will your brand new Corvette have a rear end introduced in 2005, but it'll have the quality tolerances of a Toyota Corolla.

So instead of using the vents as designed by the engineers, the car uses gaps over 0.5" in the body panels so the air can escape? No one sees a problem with letting higher than ambient pressure and temperature air "escape" from massive body panel gaps instead of flowing through vents as designed?

Doesn't look horrible, but theres no imagination in it either. They are just round holes in the back with simple lights and lenses I'm sure. They should have gone with some kind of staggered oval lights with layered lenses similar to the stock C7 if they really wanted to make an impact, but keep the traditional design lamps.

Anyways...it really doesn't matter. There is no way I could butcher up the C7 with a whole new rear end b/c I have more respect for the car than that. I love the new C7, but those tail lights still look like Camaro Gen 6 to me.

What I think is funny is that when the 5th gen Camaro came out, Corvette faithful cried because they thought the Camaro's tail lights looked too "Corvette". Now those same people are complaining because they now think the C7 tail lights look too "Camaro".

Not to stir up a pot here, but for those who say that the new rear ends air gaps are messing with GM's engineering, then what about the CAI that everyone puts on their cars? And exhausts, tuning, suspension, etc. etc... Isn't what everyone who mods their cars messing with GM's engineering?

Yes. However all of those products are engineered to still work well with the rest of GM's engineering. In this case, simply leaving a gap between body panels for venting is a cheap and half-baked solution.

My take is that no one knows if it works or not and still bury it sight unseen. Hell it could work better than he GM version for all we know. I personally like the look but I'm not defending it because of that, I just think it's strange that people will wreck an idea because GM didn't make it. They had to have some GM input to even make the thing, The car isn't even being sold on the open market yet as far I know. I am no GM or Corvette insider by any means, hell I know nothing but it just seems strange that people bash it without even seeing if it even works first.

Honestly, I don't think this company even knows what they're doing, and I definitely don't think GM's worked with them on this. The photo in their ad is a Photoshop done by a member on GMI that they pretty much stole. Basically they have an idea of the product they want to offer and by chance, they stumbled across a picture of that product, but I highly doubt they even have measurements taken yet.

The new design for the vette is vastly superior IMO! Why anyone would want the old rear over the new design is beyond me.

Leave it to Camaro owners to want Camaro like tail lights on the Corvette. You guys would all jump off a cliff if a Camaro went first.

The current tail lights on the C7 are the weakest or least tasteful aspect of the car. Everyone in the articles agrees. Why did they put "dumb guy" Camaro tail lights on the sophisticated Corvette?? Wake up! Erik
