I have bought a pair of 20 x 9 wheels to match my 20 x 9 rear set and put them on the front. I use Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 tires 285/35/20, all 4 wheels and tires the same. I have driven the car like that for 17 months with no problems.

Do the 20x9 you added to the front have the same offset as the rear 20x9s?

Tire Rack folks tell me I can't go more than a 19X8.5 on the front of my 2012 2LT/RS. Is that true? I see some folks on here saying they put on 9's so wondering what's up. Looking to go square but don't track.

19x8.5 is no problem assuming the you have the adequate backspacing and offset For the record, you RS camaro cam with 20x8 wheels/tires up front from the factory

You could swap your rears to the front and find out that they fit. 10's will fit with the correct offset.

What Fred says is right. I run 19x11 square all day long. And the offsets are exact for all wheels , except I run a 5 mm spacer upfront because I run so much negative camber. But yes it can be done easily. All depends on how much “poke” you like.

Hey Guys, I just bought a 2010 SS. It has 2017 Ss wheels on it. 20x8 in front and 20x9.5 in rear. If I buy 2 more rear wheels can I run those as a square set up. I have 275/40/20 tires. The 20x9.5 rears are 39 offset. Thanks.

Swap the fronts and rears and find out for sure.

Running the rears on the front shouldn't be a problem at all.
However, to make it look right you may need to run a spacer on the rear to make the square setup correct and have the rears "tucking" the same amount as the front due to factory offset. Otherwise, the rears on the rear will be "in" the wheelwell farther than rears on the front.
