OnStar light turned red - what gives?
My light next to the OnStar button that is usually green turned red tonight. No idea why. Called OnStar and they said its either connection problems (which, it obviously wasn't because I was talking to them) or something about an update. But I called my dad and asked him to check his, 35000 vin range, and his is green. What gives?

I thought it turns red when your service expires. Says somewhere in the manual that comes with the car. I'm sure I read it somewhere in the paperwork after recieving my car.

Expires 2/24/11 according to the online site. Diagnostics are all fine. Looks like I'm heading to the dealer tomorrow......ugh. Any other ideas?

Thats really odd then, I would keep calling Onstar and possibly ask my dealer for a solution.

Mine does the same thing sometimes, then the next day it'll be green.
No idea why. |

I've been noticing that a lot more now recently too. What gives?
I just thought OnStar is just busy all the time because the red comes on usually during peak hours like around rush hour and whatnot. |

I've been told its weather realted. Similar to your dishnetwork or directtv when the weather is crappy your onstar can lose its signal on a temporary basis. I was told that portions of it still work even if it is red.
