Okay, the car went into the shop on 1/14/14 (good date to remember right?) but before that I tried to get the hood into the vehicle that was transporting the rest and giving me a ride home but the hood would not fit. So I had to audible, and install myself, which was straight forward but the two parts that I got stuck with were the wind shield washer bracket (I hate push pins) and then the hood prop (little metal half circle) getting it off was easy back on not so much.
Here are the photos from that day though No hood New hood Dropping her off at my shop Now before I get to how she turned out I’ll do a recap on what I was having done. - RKsport Ram Air Hood painted to match with white stripes - Seibon ST trunk painted to match with white stripes - ZL1 rockers smoothed and fully painted to match - ACS T4 splitter painted to match - ACS T4 undertray painted to match - ACS Wind deflectors painted to match - BBK Stainless Steel headers with high flow cats My guy didn’t install the Xpipe I bought and I agree I like how it is, no rasp that I have noticed yet and the drone in the cabin is barely more than I already had from the MRT exhaust. I got quoted on a week and a half but it turned into 17 days because they painted the hood and trunk in the booth and it was all fine then they installed them and the Orange didn’t match. This was because the color code they got from the manufacturer has changed since my Orange came out. But they are an excellent shop, called me up and told me the problem and that they will make it perfect. I love perfectionists just like me. So it was back to square one with the hood and trunk. Went to pick her up today and I saw her nose poking out of the parking lot when I was driving up and I was like WOW!! I think she looks amazing. The front is so much more awesome with the new aggressive hood and the splitter! And then when I got out of the car I came in I saw the trunk and this is my favorite piece. It’s so subtle unlike the rest of my car lol So I talked with my guy a little before I went to leave, after I paid though lol, and when I cranked her up, she is a lot louder now. And now I am in love all over again. Half way before I got home the CEL kicked on but I knew that was coming and last week I ordered an NA IPF Tune from Matt@FSP (awesome gent and thank you!) Ten minutes later the CEL is cleared! And I turned it over in the garage, soooooo much louder. It was awesome! It was louder than my neighbors ZL1 while garaged with just the MRT exhaust (he agreed) and now it's like two cars are in the stable. And the hood has great fitment in real life in the photos looks like the gap is bigger than it is, stupid photos... Sorry for the story and as well as the photos, in the middle of a camera upgrade so I don’t have my Nikon body and the sun wasn’t out today (snow/sleet/rain) so it doesn’t look too Orange and there is a small White Pearl in the stripes but you can see it under light and they said in the sun so once the sun comes out I’ll do a photo shoot next week. Here they are, enjoy!
