Streaky windshield wiper blade fix

I don't know if this is a known fix. If it is I'm sorry for wasting your time, but I just discovered it.

After a long harsh winter of ice, snow, and salt my Bosch Icon wipers started streaking really bad. I was about to go to autozone and pick up a new set for the summer, but I decided to try something and it worked. I just got some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. Removed my wiper blades. Soaked the paper towel with the alcohol and scrubbed my blades (fairly vigerously) until i removed all the stuck on grime until the wiper blades were black again. You can see while you're rubbing which spots still have the grime on them. When I was done I put them back on and what do you know. They work as if they were brand new again. Definitely would try this simple fix before dishing out 40 bucks for new blades.

I do it on the semi truck all the time. Gets rid of the diesel fuel on them .

I don't plan on changing the blades on my car for a long time lol. Doesn't see snow and hardly sees rain.

Sent from somewhere on the road.

Yeah it works. I surprised myself when I tried it.

After driving in the rain yesterday, I was planning on buying a new set today. But I will give this a shot, hopefully it works!

Nice!
Yeah, I noticed these new curved 1 piece blades do not seem to last nearly as long.

I've had a set on my pickup for 4+ years from NAPA. Never cleaned or anything and they still work good. Regular blades on my pickup have wind chatter so I cannot use regular blades .
