I had a paragraph or two written last night and deleted them as I thought the subject would be to controversial.

My single thought is: Just who is going to make the decisions of what is fair? Answer: No one knows what is 'fair'.

I’d like to see your two paragraphs. The House is a great place to share your thoughts and we have gone 10 years now without name calling and arguments.

Me? I used to look at GM as my family. Both of my parents and my grandfather worked for GM. My best friend and his father worked at GM. I went to General Motors Institute. It’s who and what I knew. Of course I watched the business decisions being made and the spiral as GM couldn’t longer pay the healthcare and pensions for a million retirees. And yes some were callous decisions with little or no thought to the invested capital of that family.

I could write for hours.

As for what is fair? That is probably a decision by decision outcome. Now some of this maybe great news. For example if GM were thinking of its US workforce then maybe the Blazer would be in a US plant. But on the other side of fairness what about GM’s Mexican team members? Would it be fair to them to move the Blazer to Lordstown for example?

I’m also sure if GM had its way they would bring more than the Buick Envision over from China. for example the LaCrosse is still made there. Doesn’t sell enough to keep Hamtamk open but they could bring 5 or 10,000 over a year at a profit.

Also some complained that this was not sufficient as it didn’t address Executive compensation and other inequalities.

We’ll see how this plays out.
