Paint protection - front end - 2012 Camaro
Hey guys,
I just had the front bumper and grille painted on my 2012 Camaro, after 50K miles and shitty as the factory paint is it was looking horrible. The front bumper looks like new now, but I want to protect it. I've done my research online and this forum and recommendations/prices are all over the place. Does anyone have a recommendation on what/who to use, just doing my front end with some sort of clear bra/Xpel. (btw I'm in Charlotte, NC if you know anyone local) Was looking to have something done that costs under $300, or am i being a cheapskate? |

How much did you spend to repaint the bumper?
I install clear paint protection film, and have had lots of experience with it.

You are going to have to search the forums on this website for more info, but for me it came down to 3M, Xpel, or Suntek. I'd have to check, but I am pretty sure my installer used Suntek. It was incredibly hard to discern differences between the three brands. I do believe there are a couple different 3M paint protection films available, so make sure you know what you are exactly looking at from them. I also had the "gills" area protected and behind the rear wheels, and I believe my bill, installed was more like $700-800. I am extremely glad I had a professional do the install. The curves and shape of the front end would result in wrinkles and uneven application if someone did not know what they were doing.
See if you can look at a recent paint protection film job from a local installer and get a quote in advance if you can. Hope that helps at least a little. |
