Any Procharger I-1 owners yet?
Just wondering if anybody is running the new Procharger I-1 kit.?
The programable boost, might give the tuner a headache though......If you would change your boost setting,i'm guessing you would need to change the tune aswell?...... |

They aren't out yet. A good tuner shouldn't have any issues dealing with different boost settings.

Just seen it in a Magazine at wal-mart. They put it on a Camaro 10' with LS3. It sead it was in-between the P1 and D1 in output potential. Looked very cool. It jumped up to 7.5 boost at 2250 RPM and just held it at 7.5 all the way to red line. They did not turn up the boost they just used the OEM program.

i think they were talking about 9500 ish give or take 500 . They are a really neat system because if can vary the internal pulley setup so have max boost down low and then taper it off at redline . Its basically like a turbo . Its very cool but large and heavy .

So it is like a turbo setup, but more expensive and can't make as much power. Why not just do turbos?

X2, I do not understand the point of it at a high price range.

I think it would be a lot simpler setup than turbos. I agree that turbos make more hp per lb of boost period. But the procharger, will give you a roots blower style mid range vs their standard p1 or d1. Plus, no need for a scavenge setup or draining of a top mount.
