Oshawa plant will be producing 2,200 a week

First I would like to welcome myself to the forum. I will be taking the plunge within the next week to order a 2LT RS or 1SS RS, to finally move on up from my reliable 2001 honda civic.

For those of you who don't know, GM announced about two weeks ago that their Oshawa, Ontario plant will be increasing production by 35% on the Camaro. Which means an additional week of work this summer that was previously scheduled as a plant closure day, as well as an additional 7 saturdays of summer over time. Also to note, the plant is gearing up to redline their production at the end of May, producing roughly 440 camaros per day, or 2,200 per week. So, with current back orders at 19,000, and Oshawa soon to be producing 2,200 per week... you do the math... I expect the order wait times to shrink in the near future. SOME GOOD NEWS.

It would be nice if they put some effort into getting the cars out that have been built for a month already. I get the feeling they really dont care...

Yea, from what i read according to GM it's up to 19,000. Also noted was the fact that the region your from has a large part to play in how long you wait for your delivery.

That's great news and its encouraging. The hidden factor is how many of those cars will actually be devoted to the preorders.... I hope all but I'm not holding my breath on that.

I also hope they can get the cars shipped out in a timely fashion. I'm glad GM is getting demand for the vehicle just hope they can start executing a bit better then they have been.
