Achieved 6k miles on my Goodyear F1 supercar rear tires. Always engine breaking with an occasional slide show out of the car wash. GY F1's are great with a good wheel alignment in warm weather.

That was a pretty funny joke about the spoiler and wicker bill being the root cause... Lol
Never know about the downforce. Lol

I got 12,000 on mine, all street miles. They still look good. Not sure about how much tread I got left. Will post pics tomorrow.

I dont know if running in comp mode adds to the wear, but romping on it with traction control on will activate the antilocks. You dont even notice it, but it is happening when your car detects slipage. I proved it, as a result of insurance.

You running them in comp mode?

Damn those look brand new! dont measure on the shoulders they are for grip and have a shallow "tread" look inside you are not even close to the wear bars and even then they still good for a bit.

I normally drive in comp mode. I don't trust the nannies much. But I might start running with them on.

Yes, I use one of those insurance company fobs that track your usage for discounts. It reported hard braking events for every time I took my camaro out. Proved it by running in comp mode, and the hard braking events were the antilocs trying to maintain traction, completely disappeared.

Question is, which is worse, early wear on tires, or early wear on brake pads.

Aww heck, just have fun.

Brake pads are cheaper than those tires

Just over 35K and have got here using two sets of tires (fronts from first set are now the rears). They are going to need to go soon, but got a new knee for Christmas, so it is parked for a while anyway. No complaints with the Goodyears. We will buy the third set here in the spring.

So you're saying that those insurance fobs not only track hard braking events based on deceleration g's exceeding some threshhold (typically around 0.5g), but also episodes where TC kicks in?

If so, chalk up one more reason not to use one.
