^ Not sure how GT vs GT would liven things up, so how does a stock GT auto vs a SS with long tubes at the track sound?
Spoiler alert! The SS looses. |

Ok, don't blame you, as that is likely what I would get too (and absolutely the ONLY option I would personally consider). Once you put a tune on the car and bump the rev limiter up to the 7500 rpm range, that gear will definately be the ticket. With the aggressive tranny gearing, it is very much a "having your cake and eating it too" type of situation.
The only thing I'd add is that with a bone stock car, 3.55s or 3.31s would likely be a bit quicker, mainly because of the aforementioned stock rev limiter, and also perhaps slightly easier to launch on the stock 235s. Good luck tonite - I look forward to hearing your results. Bob PS....I also look forward to seeing the difference in power between 87 and 93 octane. That will be a very good data reference point. |

What is your problem? Seriously? IPS states the car had 87 octane in it during initial testing, completely up front and honest. Then they post track numbers, again, letting everyone know what went wrong with each pass. It's not like they are trying to pass those numbers off as being the best ones available. In short, if I owned a Ford, I would do business with ISP before Bill's Ford Performance, or whatever your shop is called. They have been honest and forthright in posting their findings, and have even stayed above your mentality in responding to you. It's a good thing your done with this thread. Now we can all enjoy what IPS is doing and I'm sure we all look forward to their honest results.

Oh wow...interesting...I thought it would liven it up due to the 2011's 100+whp advantage over the old bolt on 2v...but your vid is more lively

Thanks!
Because the rest of the internet cares what you think? How about we wait for the final results. Ford built a decent car... no one here is arguing that... why so defensive? Oh... I see the sig... |

Might as well throw gas on the fire. Anybody see the JD Power Initial Quality Survey results today?
For those that might not know, the survey was compiled from owners who bought new cars between November 2009 and February 2010. More than 82,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2010 model-year vehicles were surveyed. This means that the comparison was between 2010 models of all three pony/muscle cars, so don't nobody should suggest that the new Mustang powertrains had any influence on the results. Go check them out at: http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings...midsize-sporty Looks like GM did well in the light duty truck and a few other segments, as well. Apparently, Gen5 Camaro owners, overall, are not too happy with their car as compared to the folks who bought Mustangs and Challengers last year. Don't kill the messenger, it surprised me too. My Camaro has required zero factory repairs. My Mustang lost a steering rack when three days old. So what? There isn't a difference in substance between the brands until you get to the second half of the list.

I always take JDM's stuff with a grain of salt because their results always look fishy...The numbers don't lie I suppose...but for some reason I find it hard to believe the mustang got a perfect 5 bubbles in EVERY category...but eh...I guess it is what it is
