Mark....I used the crap out of my stock pads, but they did start to fade by the end of the day...thought my rotors were warped and pads were bad...went to Motul and much better...still got some fade after a while, though...Switched to Hawk's hp plus...the "old" stock pads still had a ton of meat on them...thought they would be a lot worse. I think the stock pads just can't take a full track day after a while...Maybe the 1LEs are better...Still think a good bleed job and leak check will save you a bunch of money.

You need to get some good track pads that can take the heat, the minimum should be Hawk DTC30's front/HP+ rear....I personally run Cobalt Friction pads, and they work the best of the pads I have tried...no fade so far and I ran Road America, Autobahn, etc this year.....

If you leak fluids, it means you lack some and most probably have Air in your system now. Bleed them and upgrade those front lines with good Braided Stainless steel ones.
I would start with that, Cheap fix (~$125) and good upgrade for track used. I doubt it's a pad/rotor issue...for now.

Also, Get a pair of used oem 20x9 rear SS wheels with 275x40 Tires (~$400) to get rid of the Staggered setup.

Now you know the secret of the 1LE's performance; it's 50% in the tires and wheels.
Good luck!
Mike

Check my sig
Check to see about that leak first, i would check the seals of the calipers too, they might be causing a leak. While in there see how much pad you have left, should run with no less than half the pad. Definitely add braided lines if you haven't already and think about brake ducts. If ypu are gong to be tracking more often i would look into track pads at minimum.

Just because you were not faster as usual because of the tires you had you might have been braking later than normal because you are driving more confidently now and this will heat up the brakes quicker.

You should change it to a high quality dot 4. Motul, SRF, ATE. The stock dot 3 after 12k is not going to work out well for you at the road coarse.

I like ATE due to the fact that they offer the same fluid in blue and amber, which makes it easy to tell when you have the old fluid out.

auto part stores here in town only have DOT4...no time to order anything else...suppose I'll just use that. Synthetic or non-synthetic though?
