Intercooler water misting to lower IATs

With my “more boost” setup, I’m estimating my IATs to get mighty toasty, like close to or over 200*F. I do have a meth setup being designed, so that’s in the works.

Has anyone tried a water mister setup in front of their intercooler to lower IATs? From some research I’ve gathered, it could help lower 10-15*F. Not asking for a friend.

Thinking a mister could be easy to implement.

Ideally, I’d slam some nitrous in front of the TB to make for some chilly temps, but don’t really have the desire to maintain tanks, pressures, bottle temps and sporadic tunes to take on that challenge. When I get bored of the topped out wonder twin power, I’ll make those IATs frozen with a 400 shot. I have no friends.

Dont have one but considered it. It shouldnt be to hard to repurpose the windshield washer resivoir and pump to spray down the intercooler.

Been done before, some good old articles.

But...if this is for track use, they'll probably cry about you squirting water about the place, even though none will likely ever get near the track

On the Subaru it was largely for homologation purposes. What was fitted to the road cars...was a rather poor version of what was actually used on the rally cars.

On the road cars it would make little difference, but still better than nothing

I get what your saying , was there to get the approval from the rally community on the production sti. Even if it did very little for cooling the boost. I remember back then they were pushing the sti as a rally ready street car on all there advertising
