Car and Driver is saying the base price is going to be around $47,000... Now the only question left, how much does it weigh. They commented on the weight dist. and that the wheel and tire combo could save 22lbs but no official curb weight.

Looks like I might have to sell a few things and move into a van down by the river.

It seems to me from the Q&A segment that twith everything they added they took a step back and removed weight from another area to compencate, id expect weight to stay the same as the SS. Bad news for people expecting a lighter car but good news for those expecting 4100 pounds. And keeping the same weight isnt so bad, a lot of people forget the GT500 is the same weight as a Camaro. The GTs are the light ones but the extra weight of the GT500 is often overlooked.

Also no offense but...OH COME ON! LOL...I crusaded for a name other than Z28 cause i wanted a Boss fighter and got the 3rd degree for it but now that its officially ZL1 everyone's jumpin on the bandwagon, lamesauce -_-' haha =P

I like every thing but the wheels and the front bumper. But they did get rid of that stupid mail slot.

Just............No. I am not all that crazy about this car. Suede..........Really? I know its and option but still........really? I....I'm just at a loss right now. I really want a Z28 and I guess thats why. Either way my SS is safely in my driveway and maybe thats a good thing. It should be paid for by the time the Z28 shows up..............if it ever does?!

Just the LSA alone will increase weight by 130lbs at least, It wouldn't be unreasonable to think that the car will weight 4100lbs. Especially all the leather and extra's in the interior. The suspension will be heavy thats for sure, and I never figured MC would have made it so thats 80lbs right there. Transmission will no doubt use a heavier gear set and need to be beefed up to handle the torque. Exhaust might be lighter by 20lbs, all four wheels save 22lbs combined... Its gonna take more than a carbon fiber hood insert to save weight. I'm sticking with 4080lbs 6M and 4125 6A...

Edit: I did ask about the weight twice but my question was filtered an ignored..

I didn't see any mention of it but does anyone know if it will have forged internals? Someone should have asked that instead of "can I get Mustang Eater engraved on the bumper?"

What someone really should have asked is "whats with the Elton John sunglasses we've seen on the rear end of a few of those test mules?"

Also my weight guess is just something inferred from the Q&A, i mean its not hard to believe they could have kept the car at the same weight when they mention they redesigned over 1/3rd of the car

Magnetic Ride, Supercharged LSA, double clutch, wider tires, lighter wheels, corvette exhaust w/ quad tips, functional heat extractor, side skirts with what looks like integrated rear quarterflares.....yes please! It all looks pretty badasstic to me!

Oh, and anybody think the Indy 500 decals on the sides of the ZL1 test mule was a hint at both cars being unveiled at the same time like they were? =P haha i dunno just kinda caught my eye

Steering wheel sucks, gauge needles sucks, suede sucks, wtf. Use real leather if you want to two tone the interior. Wheels are awesome, front end is great, exterior changes are the only real good changes in my opinion.

I will keep my SS . Thank YOU!!

A lot of people seem to overlook how GM designed the exterior of the ZL1 for optimum performance rather than to look like the Mona Lisa, and dont forget the original ZL1s looked like the lowest model Camaro from the outside, so at least these ZL1s dont look like LTs right? LOL

Also Ive already got a commercial for the Z28 as a competitor to the Boss, get a band to cover The Who's Wont Get Fooled Again and show the 2012 Boss 302 just as they say "Come meet the new Boss" then show the Z28 and they say "owned by the old boss" xD
