Other changes to optimize the 1LE for track-day use include:

  • Higher-capacity rear-axle half shafts to cope with increased levels of traction
  • Strut tower brace for improved steering feel and response
  • ZL1-based 20 x 10-inch front and 20 x 10-inch aluminum wheels
  • 285/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 tires front and rear (identical to the front tires for ZL1)
  • ZL1 wheel bearings, toe links and rear shock mounts for improved on-track performance
  • ZL1 high-capacity fuel pump and additional fuel pickups for improved fuel delivery during high-load cornering.

But....click on the standard/available equipment tab and it will still have 20x11 for the 1LE in the ordering guide.

Hmmmm.....

I want 20x10 Although I am sure someone else is saying they want 20x11 and I should STFU.

Now if only they would add a delete for the hood wrap and black spoiler so they would be the same color as the body....

I was iffy on the flat black hood and spoiler myself but it's grown on me. I haven't really seen a pic of the 1LE that I didn't like. I'll probably end up leaving the hood the way it comes. As far as the wheels it looks like the jury is still out. I would normally be wary of a finding like this as GM's website info is notorious for typos, wrong pictures and animations, but maybe they changed the wheel size. We will see soon enough.

This link shows the specifications for all models of Camaro. Click on Wheels/Tires and you'll see the 20x10 front and rear for the 1LE.

Shoot. I've had to ask people what color their car is cause IOM looks so much like red in certain pics.

I'm not able to read everything on this page from the 2013 Camaro brochure when I zoom in. What I can see is that is says 20x11 rear wheels, 0-60 in 4.7, 3875 curb weight,1.0G skidpad, I think it says 12.9 second 1/4 mile can't read the speed.

I need to see a test between the SS vs. SS w/ 1LE vs ZL1, to make my determination on buying the 1LE or ZL1...

It should only be a money issue. 1LE won't come close to anything the ZL1 is capable of.

Exactly

ZL1 ($$$) > 1LE ($$) > SS ($)

So it's 15 lbs heavier than a SS?

That extra 15lbs shouldn't surprise anyone... it's not a LIGHTENED SS -- its an SS with *extra* equipment added on.

Stronger (heavier) axle shafts, thicker solid steel sway bars front and rear and bigger wheels and tires. Not to mention the other little extra bits (additional fuel pickups, different transmission (might be heavier)), etc. Does anyone think that all those things are *lighter* than stock SS parts???

I'm actually a little surprised the weight gain isn't closer to 40-50lbs given all the extra (or bigger) parts.

Larger sway bars and axles weigh more.
