i have some news, I work at Recaro. There's some discussion in another topic on this as well I was shining some light on. Here's the down low, Some is rumor some I can state as fact from first hand knowledge/experience.
Reliable rumor: Seats will be available for sale at dealers as early as June AT THE EARLIEST can and most likely a little later.

Rumour: Someone else said they have a source at the dealer who said they will sell for $2000 a piece. I can tell you this sounds about right comparatively speaking to other Recaro products.

They WILL bolt right up, although some computer re-flashing will need to be done to accommodate the differences in the Track position sensors.

They are similar in frame components at the core only. Frame is different and as well as trim and foam. Huge difference to sit in

JCI did acquire Recaro but we are still a part of the Global Recaro picture, operating independent from JCI. in co-operation thing Germany and Japan.

I've been waiting since C5Fest IV to hear this

Got to sit in a 2014 1LE and loved the Recaros. I'll be looking forward to any future updates

I know not to shoot the messenger...but thanks for the info.

Couple of questions for those of us who have 2010-13 Camaros that want Recaros.

Recaro makes Ford Mustang seats OEM and available aftermarket for $2699-$3200 for a pair. Also available through Ford AND Ford Racing.

The only difference I could see without really comparing apples to apples is that perhaps the Mustang Recaros are manual adjusted and the Camaro Recaros are atypical 6 way power. In itself, does this justify a $700 to $1300 difference in price?

Yes, Recaros are a 2k option and part of that price is the price adjustment of the non Recaro seats at roughly $800 each assembled. So, I speculate the Camaro Recaros should come in at the $3500 mark.

I know nothing about that side of it. Pricing is set by GM, not Recaro. Hard to as speculate.

Sure glad I ordered these seats after seeing all this debate. And to think I was on the fence about it, wow, wouldn't I have been sorry !!

So GM announced the Z/28 seats would be available! Any chance of the heated/powered Recaro being available down the line too?

GM is restricting purchase of 35 individual parts that make up the Z/28 package, so you can't clone.

HEY!!! We are finally reaching the last mile on getting these out to dealers. Working out the final details internally. Hopefully they will be available as early as June but could be July. I'll keep you posted. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm seeing the logistics aspect finally forming here.
8 GM Part numbers So it's probably safe to assume all Recaro flavors will be available IE Manual, Power, Logos...
