Look at your receipt and calculate the price per gallon if the grade is not on it. I unfortunately pumped diesel into a motorcycle once by accident, it happens more than most will admit. Go back and look at the pump and see if you used the correct handle..sounds like you used diesel. Good luck.

a diesel nozzle won't fit in a non diesel car, it is too large for the hole. I would hope he would have noticed it not going in like it should before pumping.....but you could put gas in a diesel vehicle..

Well, I can tell you from experience. The nozzle was not the 1" or so large type from the station where I pumped 3.5 gallons in my Goldwing last year. I m not that stupid, we have a diesel truck at work. This station had a normal handle/nozzle and I am sure that contributed to the problem. In addition it was BLACK, not GREEN. Like I said, it does happen. I have pictures somewhere because I was couldn't believe it.

If you look at BP's history going back to when they were standard of ohio, they do a much better job of killing employees and contractors with their safety practices than making a quality gasoline.

then in 1999 slim bag democrat bill clinton let them buy amoco and arco, and subquently ruin those companies. probably BP was supplying some lovely british porn stars for bill's entertainment.

If diesel is mixed in the gas you will get results very similar to what you are describing.( My wife put a half tank of diesel with half tank of gas already in my 66 chevelle by accident)and that is how it acted.Let us know how you make out...On a side note if shell and sunoco premiums are not available (as where I live ) would it be ok to run a 92 with an octane booster.. or is the car sensitive to too high as well as too low octane.....I used to run 104 octane boost in my Chevelle..it was the only way I could get the valves to quiet down and get it to shut off...

I hope the station paid for the repairs then, I am pretty sure that is against the law...

Unfortunately a 66 chevelle does not have the restriction in the fuel inlet to keep a Modern Diesel Nozzle from going into it...

kinda odd since it happened only after the fill up...are the v8s that more sensitive than the v6s(know about the octane requirements, but sheesh..to gag and sputter..had to be more serious, like someone mentioning diesel gas contamination?). Drain that beast and refill?
