Wow that dealer is an asswipe. Make sure you talk to a service advisor or ultimately to the manager. Tell him exactly what the twit did. Took off the car in 5th.

What a drag! Well designed cars are not immune to idiots, unfortunately. Stand your ground calmy but firmly. You can always threaten to escalate to GM if they don't do the right thing. At minimum, your clutch has a reduced lifetime now. Don't walk away mad; walk away satisfied. Good luck and keep us posted.

You being 19 doesn't help your situation because you're "just another dumb kid with a modded Camaro who can't drive stick shift." These service advisors won't give a crap about you; I know from experience at other dealers.

You're going to have to fight tooth and nail for what you want fixed. Take it up with the service manager, dealer manager, and bring it up to GM's human resource? then file a complaint about the dealership.

Burn the clutch out yourself, and have the replace it.

I feel for you but realise you have a big uphill battle. Unless you actually saw the wrench start the car, put it in fifth and ride the clutch, they are just going to say thats how it was brought in, we pushed it into the service bay.

Also at the end of the day, although it probably took a small bit of life off your clutch I doubt it was ruined, severly damaged of for that matter even slightly damaged. Just took off one or two hard launches in the future.

Hope the dealership does the right thing since it appears this is a warranty issue with a GM service bulletin, instructing them to not only fix the issue you had but replace the worn or damaged clutch too..so no skin off there nose!

Good luck and keep us up to date!

Thanks guys for all the help and advice. These guys are morons and they think that I know nothing. Its funny because the clutch according to them is in great shape which they showed me. SO i asked them, riding my clutch in 5th did no damage? Ok let me take my car and drive it down the street riding the clutch. I told them i know that THEY reduced my clutch life because of their stupid actions. Immediately when they realized i knew what im talking about, including the TSBs, they began to lay off bit. But its going to higher ups tommorow. Were going to battle even more tommorow.
I actually saw the guy drive my car, i ran up to him and said how'd you do it, he said 5th and continued to ride the clutch as a look of horror ran across my face.
Im going to do everything i can to win this battle. Its absolute BS that i have to have a clutch with reduced life because of a moron at the dealership.
Their customer service is poor and im going to make sure everyone knows. Starting off with the Better Buisness Burrow

Which brings me to my second point. The TSB instructs them to replace the clutch if damaged because of the bolts, im not sure why they wouldnt just shut up and replace the clutch, when they burned it. It is in good shape, but i dont see why i should have a car with reduced life because of defect and stupid dealer mistake.

I just filled out an online form/complaint. Then did the online chat, then made a phonecall and my dealership will be reading a message from a Gm Rep tommorow morning
