I got a 2001 929RR and a 05 Yamaha R1 Turbo'd. I rode a few ducati's they are horrible in traffic, seemed to chug at low rpms.

I'd die for a MV though, now that is THE BIKE.

Well, I and others in this thread will agree to disagree with you because I happen to think that the Monster is one of the sexiest machines on the road.

Have Duc 998 and Yamaha ZR1
Duc is amazing I find I can can use 50% of it's capabilities (and I grew up in racing)
Yamaha is great for a daily ride.... Duc not so much!~

Love me some Ducati! They are fantastic motorcycles, although in recent years their prices seem to have gone sky high. It's an even better owning experience now since they extended the maintenance intervals out. Although, working on Ducs is not complicated by any means. I did most of my own maintenance. Even the valve clearance checks on my water cooled 748cc 749 dark. I will probably pick up a used Monster at some point.
Nice bikes! I love the monster as well, but I don't want to get power hungry like I did with the V6 ya know. Even though they do have the Monster 1100.

What is it you are asking? Do they perform? YES. Are they sexy? YES Are they light? YES Do they sound better than anything you've ever heard before? DOUBLE YES!

Great looking Monster! I prefer naked bikes.

Thanks! I never get tired of looking at the Trellis frame, among other things! The welds are works of art by themselves...

The real kicker about this bad boy is it is now a collectors item. Was only made for 2 years (about a 1000 per year made it into the states) before Ducati decided to take the Monster back to being air-cooled and have the Streetfighter take up the liquid-cooled duties. Prob not a lot left due to attrition etc....

Still have this 1996 916. Also had a 2001 ST4S but sold that.

Now have to decide on selling this one. Moving to Chicago and may be difficult to find any roads where we are going.

Ducatis provide a real emotional experience from the feel and sound that is truly unique.
