Good battery - no power
Went to buy a 14 SS M6 today. Drove it, worked great. Got back to the dealership and shut the engine off and restarted numerous times and it started each time.
Did the paperwork went to get in the car and nothing. No dash lights or anything when the key was inserted. Battery replaced and it started once - then nothing. No clicking, noises, lights, etc. Just nothing. Dealer borrowed a fuse box from another Camaro and it sort of acted like it didn't want to start when he started it twice then started each time thereafter fine. Dealer said he will replace the +/- cables in the morning. It will boost from under the hood and run fine. What else? |

I have a rule, if I go to buy a vehicle, new or used, from a private party or dealership and it starts acting up in anyway during the test drive/before I drive off, I walk away. Could be something minor or a sign of things to come; either way, there are too many other vehicles out there to go check out to risk my money on a car that is already showing signs of trouble .. now if they are willing to knock a big chunk off the selling price, we may talk.

I'm guessing the 0 gauge ground from the passenger head to the fuse block is loose from the head.

Probably something basic, don't worry about it for now. I'm sure they will sort it out for you.

I was just gonna provide an update to this since it's been just over a year now...
Dealer kept the car overnight and his tech came in and got to work on it early the next day. Said he crawled under the car and disconnected all battery terminals, cleaned them and put all cables back. When I went to pick up the car it worked just fine. Drove it home (over 300 miles) and about half way home the dic notified me of a (sorry I forget exactly what it is) but accessories would be turned off to conserve power or something to that effect. It has never done that since. It's fired off every single time I've needed it to. Since then I've done club cruises with it, drove it back down to Dallas where I purchased it (from Little Rock) and from there to Oklahoma City and back home. Also let GPI work their magic on it with headers, cam, manifold work, and more. Making 510rwhp now and running like a champ for over a year. Certainly hope with this post I didn't just jinx myself.... |

They can buy it back, and have to if the problem isn't fixed. You have
so many days to return a vehicle, and since it started the day he went home, they know about it, it's documented. When I bought my Mustang from the dealer, I noticed some issues. I called, they said bring it back, and everything was repaired. The half-assed work was done on my Camaro, and only have the work listed was actually done, over TEN weeks. They offered to buy the car back, but I would have lost my down payment, and two months worth of car and insurance payments. I did fix the issue, and there was no excuse for it not to have been done. It was as simple as using an OEM part -vs- Bosch. Yet the douche-bag told me that they had to use AC Delco, well, he lied. Point is, they are liable for some things. Especially if they tell you "It needs nothing" then has exhaust leaks, a fuel leak, bla bla bla... |

Most states don't have "lemon" laws for used cars.
