Painted my LT1 rims in Plati-dip. Also did the front and back bow-tie emblems along with the rear tail light bezels 2 weeks ago and still looks good. Best part is if you change your mind or want to go back to stock you can always peel it off.

Probably not but you can touch up the spots that need it if need be.

Just did my friend Cobalt SS last night. I did three coats on each rim and went through 2 cans for the 4 rims. Very easy mod that looks great

I wanted to try it on his car before I did it on mine

Those LT rims look far and away better flat black like that!!! Well done on deciding to plasti-dip them.

can you "pinstripe" with this stuff. I've got a white one on the way and i'd like to do a white with blue accents look so on the edge of the spokes and rims could you lay down a blue then tape it off and go white over it?

The matte black rims look great. If I did that it would match my matte black gfx. I guess you have to buy the pd online?

The machine to change tires will probably rub your lip to pieces... nothing peeling, cleaning, and respraying won't fix though. The benefit of having them all black now... I can redo them 1 at a time if need be. Cheers.

They make a glossafier for that stuff gives it a shiny finish

You can buy Plasti-dip at any Home Depot, Lowe's or Ace Hardware store. I'm sure there are other places that sell it too.

Plasti-dipping mine today, just saw this thread while I poking around online waiting for coats to dry. I'll post some pics and stuff later on. Been taking pics between each coat.

Man one thing I haven't seen mentioned is that you need a trigger finger of steel, man my finger is sore haha and I don't know if we're using different sized cans or what but I have one light and 4 heavy coats from 2 cans... Will add a couple more coats.

Yeah, just buy one of those cheap plastic spray handles that mounts on the can. It will save your finger and give you better control.
