Thanks for the offer, when can you be here... and will the welder fit in the trunk of the Camaro... lol...
Actually, I'll use a mig welder to tack everything up and get it all properly aligned, with Corey's help of course, and then he will weld it all up with a tig machine... I've seen the hammer you Alabama dudes keep wielding... That scares me...

Cage Install Continued
Hey All...
Well, I was able to get back to the shop today, after dropping Debbie off at work and Satchmo at the Vet's office... I worked on finishing the main hoop install. It went pretty well, other than putting a couple of things back in the wrong order... Let me say, this cage is a very precise fit and very well built... Measure/mark, check and recheck everything three or more times... It's a lot easier to get it right the first time... So far... so good... As I said, I have the main hoop fully installed with bolts as is done with the five or six point in bolt in cage.... Now, we'll fit the front shoe on each side and then the door bars, the halo, the down pipes and the tunnel braces... Still quite a bit of work to go, but... we are getting there... Though it is installed with bolts at this time, we will weld it in at the base plates you can see in these pictures, the front shoe plates, and of course the rest of the bars used to complete the cage... There are also the tunnel brace pieces not seen yet that will be welded in... These provide lateral stability/rigidity and protection from side impacts intruding into the passenger compartment... In the following pictures, you can see the reinstalled quarter trim pieces. These are the pieces that have to be cut to allow the bar to go back to the inner wheel wells. Cutting them out was easy with a small air powered reciprocating saw... The instructions were very easy to follow for this step.... but again, measure it multiple times to insure a proper fit... As you can see, the rear seat has been completely removed at this point, to allow for an easier install of the quarter trim pieces... It is a tight fit.... The seat will be reinstalled for the time being until I decide how to manage the rear seat delete... It will include a firewall of some type and finished trim so it doesn't look like the rear seat is missing... If you look at the back part of the upper quarter trim, you'll note the holes in them... This is where the rear seat shoulder pieces came out... I have removed any and all seat belt components as I can promise with the eight point cage, there will be no room for anyone back there.... and you would have to be a serious contortionists to get back there anyway... I still have to put the hanger clips back on, as well as lots of other items...
