Opinions on ATAK/LTH's.
Hey, sorry if this has been covered before..
Trying to get some opinions on whether it's going to be better just to get a different set up or just run LT Headers on my current set up.. I have a catback Borla ATAK, I don't mind the loudness, I want it to be a lot louder.. However, I don't like at all how some of the headers give it that raspy sound.. Any thoughts/comments appreciated thanks.. Just looking to see if there is a decent set up I can run w/ the ATAK and Headers without being Raspy or just better off swapping out the exhaust.

Magnaflow makes a resonated x-pipe designed to reduce rasp. I am considering it myself as I have a little rasp with my headers and NPP exhaust. The only reason for my hesitation is it also reduces sound volume a little and I think the current loudness is perfect.

I have the ataks with tsp headers...cat delete...resonators delete and an X pipe. Very little rasp but I will say this...it is loud...very loud. Well over 100db's. I would recommend a resonated x pipe.

High flow cats will be less raspy than off road pipes but the ATAK just has a higher pitched tone.

I love mine. I read a lot about the combination before I put headers on and almost purchased the S-Type axle back because of all the negativity with the headers but decided to try it out.
I haven't looked back. But yes, it's LOUD. Scare small children loud.

I have the ARH LT's with their High Flow cats. Mixed with the ATAK I think the sound is awesome. Plus it is so loud it makes small children cry..... Some small children cheer though...

I would recommend the S-type. Atak is designed for the stock cats, and does not sound right with headers.

Too loud for my tastes now but back when I was a teenager to early 20's it probably would've been okay.

I'd do the headers and see if you like the sound w/ the atak...if not, buy the S-type axle back and install on your CB and sell the Atak axle-back. People are always looking for an atak axle-back...won't be hard to sell.

Anyone have the 3" atak cat back? I hear its even louder than the 2.5". Just curious. I'm going to be putting on my 3" atak soon.

Thanks all! Appreciate the input, maybe I'll just give it a try and see how I like it.. I can always change the exhaust if I don't. I was looking into SW LT Headers.

The best thing you can do for yourself is find someone with the setup you are looking to try, and meet them in person. Sure there are a lot of video's of various combinations, but unless they were recorded with a good microphone, you are not going to hear what it truly sounds like. I attempted to record mine but it got so loud that any recording device I tried to use simply turned to static as the volume was too much for the device to handle. I listened to a lot of videos before making my choice, but what really put me over the edge as to which one I was going to get was my riding along with someone else who had the same setup that I was looking at. Everything changes in person, imo.
