off topic: how much are turbo chargers? price?
how much hp do they add or power?

1.I'm 17 (plan on buying first 2010 at camaro 18 or 19Yo) a 420 hp v8 would rape me in insurance

2.the v6 gets great fuel mileage

They range anywhere from high 3k's on up to 7k, 5-7k would be twins.

Power addition, its hard to say really, too many variables, the amount of boost, size of the turbo, the way the engine handles boost, etc.

• Cheap
• Fast
• Reliable
• Pick 2

You could get a cheap turbo setup and have to spend more on your engine later, or you can spend the money on a good one. There is no way around spending the money eventually.

I think the best sounding 6cyl. is a Supra, yes I know it's not a V6, I6. Even the non turbos.

But yes the new Camaro's V6 sounds GREAT, for a V6.

I really like chevy's new 3.6 family (the LY7 and the LLT in particular) - don't know exactly why, but I just think they sound really nice.

I'm a V8 guy, but like i've said in other threads the v6 boys and girls are gonna be the majority of the camaro buyers and are a big part of the family. I think the thread title "v6 sound" might have been a little misleading. Neways your ls1 sounds great, but so do the sixers.

Yep, your right. I thought to myself that is the best sounding v6 I have ever heard. Sorry about that.

After seeing all the excitement about the video that was posted on here of the Austrailian SS reving, when actually is was a bad running scooter of some type, I'm not so sure some forum members will know the difference anyway.

This thread is full of suck. I'm a V8 guy through and through, but after seeing and hearing what the DI Camaro is capable of I'm seriously considering a V6 vert instead of an SS and save that large chunk of change.

It will all come down to the test drives though, if I'm not convinced by the DI (though I think I will be) then I'll step up to the LS3.

All that aside, the OP loses in this thread.

Harsh...

P.S. - drivingincamaro, take a look at this thread - its a discussion about turboing the V6.
