GM would do well to have a small-truck again in the US lineup, but this ain't it, unless they just want to compete with Santa Cruz.
This is why GM has to skip it and skateboard it. That'll give them time to determine if they even want to offer something in the segment. A small runabout EV truck would shine IMO compared to a full size EV truck that actually has to perform as a truck at distance (towing, hauling, etc).

It actually looks better, especially the front end, than I thought it would based on the spyshots. It would take some major changes to be competitive here in the states I think though.
I poached this guy's comment from the link....
I don't see much demand for this thing or how it gets to the US from Brazil, especially as a non EV....just sayin'....

I liked this guy's thoughts anyhow...

"Through three quarters Ford has sold 51,802 units of the Maverick.
Hyundai sold 26,803 units of the Santa Cruz in the same 3 quarters.

So Two mfgs sold 78,605 units total.

Now let that soak in as to this point that should be the number each company should have moved to this point.

Now GM comes in and takes a chunk of these sales it could easily cut these numbers to even less for each.

We must remember the Honda Ridgeline rarely sells more than 30,000 units a year and many wonder why they keep trying.

Camaro sales suck and they sell about the same here as Ford. You need to stop believing Ford media as they are in trouble financially. They are putting a number of big spin press releases out.

GM has this truck an I suspect it could come here if needed but tgeybarecwaitingbto see if there really is a market here before they drop the money to bring it here. Their first priority is the intended South American market then they will judge if there really is any Money to be made.

Trailblazer and Trax sales are not exactly big last year or so far this year.

Things have been crazy these Last two years so let’s be smart and just see if sales grow back to what they were or not.

The Economy is trash interest is up and parts are still in shortages. Moves need to be made with some real consideration vs hey just bring it here.

I challenge you to look up the real production numbers for last year and through 3 Quarters of this year and see the true story."

P.S. I've yet to have noticed any new Mavericks on the road here is SoCal...just sayin'.

I guess this should quell peoples fears of the Camaro being revived as a sedan. Don't think it will make sense to make both as an EV as of yet.

But certainly marks the likely death of the Camaro come 2024 as LGR gets converted over to a factory zero and the likely location for these 'Vette's to be assembled.

This at least leaves BGA alone to keep churning out the C8 and hopefully clear out the Z06 waitlist along with the ERay, ZR1, and Zora. Lets hope the C8 stays in production into next decade( mostly because I want my name to come up for a Z06 ). Does leave the curiosity of if LGR will produce the C9 and the future of BGA post-C8.
I wouldn't count on BGA going anywhere as long as there is a Corvette.

No doubt. Didn't mean to come off as BGA is doomed after the C8 runs its course

I am more hopeful though that the C8 sees a C4 or C6 like run with the EV 'Vette's being made in LGR and not stealing capacity or ending production of the C8 anytime soon.

Story posted on Jalopnik: https://jalopnik.com/2023-chevy-corv...ine-1849873884

From what is said there, they are claiming it uses the standard LT2 plus smaller electric motors up front with a combined HP rating of 605.

They are also speculating that it will be even more expensive than the Z06, but that sounds totally wrong to me. I think it will start somewhere in the middle between base Corvette and Z06. Maybe 80 or 90 grand?

Yep. Z06 guys are probably pissed.
New colors were revealed too. A dark blue to replace Elkhar, a new dark gray and a creamy green color called Cacti.
