Question Switch from RS 20" wheels to 18" for winter

I have a 2011 1LT RS. If I switch to 18" heritage wheels will this damage the car in any way? I just got off the phone with a dealer that said it will affect the automatic transmission.

Think about it. The LS, which is more or less the same car you have, utilizes those wheels. Now what the dealer said doesn't make sense, right?

Ugh. Your dealer's an idiot.

Just run tires that are the same height overall as the RS package (28.6") and you'll be fine.

Tires sizes that will work can be found here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...70&postcount=1

I see that you're in Long Island, just out of curiosity, which dealer was this?

Smithtown, I knew they didn't know what they were talking about. I really hate dealerships because they are always giving me BS answers.

That's so weird. I've heard from some NY5thGen guys that that's actually a pretty good dealership.

Well I don't know if it's a good price or not for heritage wheels, but it seems good. However, based on their answer I'd stay away. That's weird. Are you sure they fully understood your intentions and what model you have? I just can't fathom how a certified dealer could come up with that response.

I told them I bought the wheels already and I just want them installed. I drive this car 50 miles everyday so I want to switch to the heritage wheels for the winter.

Wait! $116 just to have them installed, or is that for the tires as well? Either way, I think you're better off just going to a local shop.

So you think I can just bring the 18's to Goodyear and they will do it for me?
