Always very satisfying to accomplish a project with your own two hands. Congrats!

Sounds fantastic. What type of X Pipe is that? I have a similar setup. LT headers with HF cats and Solo axle back exhaust but I still have my L99 resonator. I was wondering how a x pipe would sound. Just curious if it would be to loud or to raspy. Resonated or non-resonated?

Today was the first time I drove my car in over 3 months since I destroyed the L99. Had a flawless startup with great, nearly immediate oil pressure. It started on the first crank! No leaks, no code, no issues or anything. Only issue I have so far is my AC is not cold. I did not open the AC to ambient at all. I only disconnected the compressor from the bracket and leaned it to the side, so hopefully it's a fuse or something. really hoping the change in position didn't create a slow leak. Checking that tomorrow.

Holy crap though, she is an animal! DynoSteve came through again on the tune. Going to get through my break in to make sure the rings seat properly and then send him the datalog. My engine builder told me to drive it like I stole it and I am more than happy to oblige.

This whole ordeal has been a nightmare, but it ended amazingly. It was my first engine swap since 1994. Tell you what though, as nerve wracking as it was, it is so satisfying to know I did this entire thing by myself (Aside form the rebuild, of course and a little help from my son and daughter holding things) in my driveway...Well, I did get some help from you guys here too!

Very nice. Glad you have it going again. Enjoy it

Thank you!

Seriously, its like falling in love with your car all over again. The engine has 37 miles on it now. I haven't been going crazy or anything, but have been heavy footed so I can seat the rings properly. TapShift is helping with that as I am downshifting for engine braking a bit too. DIC says I am at 10mpg so far lol.

It is so crazy how close DynoSteve got this tune. For real, he freakin' nailed it. It feels very close to my L99, but less...tired? No more dead spots, for lack of better words. But I assume that also has to do with new rings and the milled heads. It just feels crisper than my L99. The top end is sick. But what I have not noticed is the lack of VVT down low, but that is probably made up for in the LS3's larger cam. I was just curious how the 2 engines would compare, especially behind the A6. I am not disappointed.

To be honest, I have two ebay purchases. The x-pipe and the shorty headers. Together they cost 300 total. Basically no-name brands or whatever the seller wanted to call them. So far they have been working flawlessly. Put the headers and JBA hi flows myself. The backend had shop install. If I were to pick apart why the car is not the perfect sound I would say its because of my 3:91 ratio. Going from first to second there is a slight delay or raspiness for lack of better terms. That's if I lay on it though. If I drive normal the sound is steady throughout. The tone is a little higher pitched at startup but any thoughts about converting back are totally erased when I let loose on this thing. Loud as f....! And no drone. Solo built an excellent axleback.

Spray down car port wash to get the dust off, and another nice drive to work after not driving it since Sunday...

Gonna give it a Back to Black treatment this weekend on the bottom front grille, top rubber trim... give the wheels and tires some shine. Car needs some love...

Got quoted 325 and 375 to wrap my roof. Tried doing it myself with Ebay wrap. 30 bucks. I removed all trim and antenna. Not too bad, just followed directions off from this forum and vids from you tube. Prepped and tooled up. Well...complete fail. Sooooo....called up another place but I let them know I removed everything already and they dont have to put back. Just wrap roof. Cost 160 out the door with 3m. Took them 20 min. I think it came out great.

Had her in a Cars & Coffee event early this morning. Camaros and Corvettes were the featured cars this month. Ours is pretty big, about 500-600 cars show up.
