I helps with the airflow in the entrance of the port near the roof of the intake, helps it change direction and increase the flow.

Is rod modding leaned more to drag racing or just overall performance?

10mo. now and all is still going great. I recommend doing it, either do it yourself or have it done by someone but it sure does help a lot.
