Original battery

Hi,
First post ever! Can’t watch the news😩.
I have 2 camaros. A 2014 RS 2LT that I bought with a salvage title and a 2013 ZL1 that I bought new. That one only has 3900 miles. Both have original batteries. Is this normal? Love these cars!

Yes, the batteries being sealed in the trunk makes for a nice long life.

Thanks,
I have a friend with an ashen gray ZL1. Sweet color!!
I use a battery tender on both right now. Just don’t want to get caught in the middle of nowhere with battery problems.

Welcome and SCREW THE NEWS. One of the best subtractions in my life. I don't know what the hell is going on half the time and it's either always bad news or fake ....so I'm told. All I can tell you is that when I open the door from the house to the garage and see the Camaro sitting there, I smile, literally or mentally. The batteries seem to do well and a few of us use tenders when storing them. You're gonna love the C5 Camaro. How's that for news!

The news is sad. This country is turning into a banana republic. lol!

Anyway, I'd plan on eventually replacing the original battery. When they get to a certain age, they can fail without warning. Hate to be stuck out in the middle of somewhere with a dead battery. Don't push it.

My orginal battery was 9yrs old when I decided to change it,there was no problem but I felt it was time since it's in a non-heated winter storage for 6 months a year.I was so happy with the battery,I installed the exact same new battery. The automatic trickle charger helped with the longevity of the battery.

my delco battery went 9 years on a car that only had 6500 miles...was still good, but figured it was time.

My original battery went over 11 years and 200,000 miles. Started getting "Service Batter Charging System" messages so I replaced it. Turned-out the battery wasn't the issue. Wonder how long it would have lasted.

And I'm 100% with the "News sucks, Camaros make me happy" crowd.

I thought I did good getting 8 years out of my battery. 11 years is amazing lol.

On my second 5th Gen Camaro - first was a 2014 2LTRS I bought new and traded with 45K, and the second is a 2014 2SSRS with about 11K. Original batteries still in both cars with no issues. Store in winter and sometimes have it on a trickle charger. Will replace it with the same battery when the time comes - maybe next year if it makes it to Spring.
