Pulled Over Rant
Just letting some frustration out. Not only did I get pulled over today for going 34 in a 25, I got a ticket for my window tint and not having a front license plate. I have the lightest tint Z-Bart has to offer which isn't very dark at all and I haven't had a front license since I was 16 (27 now). I have had plenty of warnings about the plate but never a ticket because I think they kinda know it is phasing out in most states in the US. This guy wasn't the nicest either, no how are ya, have a nice day... I could kinda tell it was more about the car I was driving (I do have mods). Plus today is the 30th.. everyone says there is no quota to meet but I see lots of lights toward the end of the month
Just had to get that out.. thanks! |

Yup, dumbos. If they had a better paying job they would probably be speeding around in a corvette. And yes, you ARE right, police make more stops and probably more tickets toward the end of the month.
I do remember going 25 in a 20, school zone. Got off on a warning because my foot actually pushed on the gas pedal harder from a huge crater like pot hole. Luckily That was before I got the camaro. You try and follow the safety laws and get ticketed for liscense plate or lack there of or window tint. Then you see a car flying by in the city going 50 in a 30, or run a stop sign and guess what.....no cops in site.

In a car that I know I'll often be pushing (or blowing away) the speed limit, I don't give the police any more reason to pull me over.
IMO cops will often overlook one small thing like a missing license plate, or a tail light burned out, or illegal tint, or a few mph over the speedlimit... but when you start combining several of these things you give them much more reason to pull ya over, and you're much less likely to get a warning when you've piled 3 or 4 violations on.

The speeding is kind of obvious. You're paying an expediency tax there. Frustrating, yes, unjustified, not really. With a modified car, you are attracting more attention, that's part of the bargain with owning something this cool. |

lol..the majority of cops make 6 figures here in CA.. so um better paying job? Having a nice job and having the ability to own a nice car is not synonymous with breaking the law. And I hear you OP, but we all feel similar but I'm of the mind set, if you did something wrong you gotta own up to it. Try to get it knocked down in court, good luck. Really? How the hell can someone sitting in a car all day, eating McDonalds, and pulling over cars make the same or more as an engineer or doctor? That's what's wrong with CA economy btw.
Then again there are gang shootings on nearly every block you turn down. Lol Yeah what I mean by having a nice paying job is; I don't see anyone working at Dollar General "accidentally" speeding in their 458 Italia or 911 GTS!

You must admit though, he had a legitimate reason to pull you over.
I usually hit the brakes when I cross your state line, Ohio cops have a rep. I'm always real careful in the fall season too, cops don't give many breaks. Traffic court is a business that slows down when winter hits so in the fall they are looking for some year end revenue.

im having flash backs to when i grew up in ohio. learned the hard way many times. they tested my windows a few times but i always got hit with the speeding. i was pulled over four times going from columbus to mt.vernon and had a few witnesses. if you dont have a traffic record you can get out of a lot there. but when that goes bye bye good luck.

Yep, everything "caught up to you" on that one traffic stop. You just have to figure it's the price you pay to not have a front plate screwed into your bumper, darker than legal window tint and drive over the speed limit. No big deal, it's a fine.
I'm just as guilty!

Hope it helped to vent, now go pay the fines for the things that you did and you knew were illegal.. Speeding, tint, no front plate..
You mentioned about how "I think they kinda know it is phasing out in most states in the US." How do you know this? Where did you get your data from? According to a quick Google search, 31 of the 50 states still require the front plate, and like I tell my son all the time when he does not agree with some law, "Until it is changed, it is still the law".

So just because you've been doing something illegal since you were sixteen makes it okay and the officer shouldn't have given you a ticket for it? Nice logic there.
