doesnt matter this vehicle is out of factory warranty, so warranty time has no bearing here

Try contacting Chevrolet Customer Svc
He's a member on here and has helped several people.

Great news

Thanks for all your help and camaro1 is the winner. Called GM this morning gave them the story, mentioned my love of the car, my GM loyalty, and that I always used dealer for service and work. Ted @ GM said he would call me back between 4:30 and 6pm. He called at 4:45 and said they would pay for everything. He called the dealer and OK'd everything. When I called my dealer service person she was all ready for me. The part is on back order and they have me scheduled for next week. She then transferred me to the cashier where my $98 diagnostic charge was refunded.
Go Chevy.
Ted at GM asked that I call him after all is done to make sure everything is OK. He said they have a real desire to see GM as #1 once again.
I'm happy.
BTW, I also told my service writer that I would have a little (cash) gift for my tech...gotta keep him happy.

Problem solved.

Here's the final report. Dropped off car this morning at 7:30 and they called at 11:30 that it was ready. It was a code P0449 00. Shorted solenoid. Replaced vent control solenoid. Part #92226690. Canister. Total cost $0.
It was out of warranty, but I called GM and told them my story (the original estimate was over $500). GM said they would take care of it. On my work order it states the reason for GM no-charging was "Good will. Low mileage, Customer Enthusiasm".

Talked with my tech and said he had to drop the entire rear-end and exhaust, but no real problem. He was paid the warranty rate (I think about an hour and a half). I gave him $50 bucks in appreciation. He is the guy that always works on my car so I was glad to do it.

Count me as a very satisfied Camaro owner. And thanks for all the help and encouragement.

That is a GREAT ending to this issue. Glad to hear all went well for you and your Camaro.

They did change the diff. fluid again under the same TSB I had it done under about a year ago...so that's not so bad.
Will let you know what I find out about EVAC, code # and warranty.
What is the TSB to change the rear end fluid?
Is it for 2010's or 11's?
