I know there is a vast amount of planning that goes into this event but just out of curiousity's sake, would having the event in mid to late September or early October be out of the question? (I know next year is a done deal already, but maybe going forward)

Unless its a mild summer....its going to be 100+ degrees out which really sucks for the car's performance....not to mention just sucks to be out in lol.

School is one reason.

This post is full of fail...
Some parts of the country get snow in October.
Not all parts of the country is 100+ in summer.
Personally, I like it hot.
Also, many families come to CFEST and kids are in school in fall.
How about we just wait and see where it is.
I dont understand why some are still suggesting venues.
Its 99% decided.

It was 95 last year and wasn't that bad. Everyone has to deal with the same heat so racin' is racin'. Worst part about last year was whether it was going to hail when the brief T-storm rolled through.

As you mention for 2014 this would not be out of the question or in the spring time like Fests 1 & 2 were. This event moves around the country so it does make sense to adjust the time frame as we did last year from April to August. The summer did bring a lot of folks who could drop the kids off and Grandmas house because school is out.

Summer eliminates places like Arizona and Spring or Fall may not work well up North.

I think it would be great to have it here in Denver. Weather will be great in August! Then you low landers get to really see what the altitude does to all those mods!

When does the location typically come available? Seems better to find a location first then set the dates to make sure availability of whats all needed is there to use?

They should have C5 fest here in Michigan weekend of August 7th. A week before the Woodward Cruise 8/16/2013 (the largest cruise in the world) The weekdays before the cruise there's activities and cruising going on down woodward ave. That way they could roll one event into another. Just say-in!
