3200 Stall vs 3:91 gears in a 2010 SS
I am looking to upgrade but not sure which is better. I drive my car everyday theres not snow on the ground (just went over 60k miles). I currently have an Intake, full exhaust including LTs and a tune. I do hit the strip occasionally but its just for fun. Im looking more for light to light improvement and not so much top end. I live in Denver so altitude is a factor!!! I am looking for the best bang for my buck.
If I go with a stall, I was thinking a 3200. Whats a good one to get? Thoughts??????

Circle D stall and from light to light, 3.91's will feel badass! It's a close toss up for which one to pick? I don't think I can pick 1! Just get BOTH!!

I think 3.91s would be a little extreme for a L99... ESPECIALLY with a 3200 stall, lol
I'm thinking i'd keep the stock gearing with a 3200 or at the lowest, go with the 3.45s out of a 6-speed rear end

3.45's aren't really enough to justify spending the $$ on the install, unless you can do it yourself or know someone. 3.70's would be lowest to consider but the price of the OEM 3.91's make them very attractive. Not extreme at all on a NA car.

I'd do the stall if you drag race a lot.
If you don't drag race hardly at all, I'd be open to gears as an option. You'd have to feather the gas in 1st gear but it would hook up at some point.

You can do both. Just get with the converters manufacturer and let them tailor the stall speed and STR to the gearset.

Probably not going to do both now. Dont have the funds. I have to pick one or the other. Remember, I am in Denver, Mile High so I am losing approximately 20% HP just because of the altitude. Not sure if they will make a differance in which one to get.
Also, does anyone know the time to install a converter and the gears?

We do the converter in 3 hours on a V8. And go 3400-3600 FTI IMHO.

Sorry for the dumb question but what is a 3200 stall and what does it do?

Altitude has a huge affect on HP...especially N/A cars!! Roughly 20% loss in HP. Thats why those of us who live up at mile high love to take our cars down to sea level. Totally different animal at sea level!
