well it would help if we had actual driving classes prior to getting a license, rather than a how to pass the test class.

And then it would help if the test was a bit more difficult. Here's a clue, if almost everyone passes, its not a real test.

They need to have another one for the ding bats that think it is ok to drive 30 or 40mph while getting on the freeway also. I can understand it somewhat to a point if it is during the busy times of the day but when there is not another car in sight it becomes a bit annoying to say the least.

I don't see that law going anywhere. I agree people should be fined for impeding traffic especially in the left lane. But I don't see a state government that is going to tell people they have to drive exactly at the speed limit in the left lane. That law will get torn up in court of it gets challenged in court. Basically they will claim that people are being forced to drive at what they may perceive as unsafe at the time. I don't see any judge telling people they have to drive exactly this speed or they will get fined. If it's that big of an issue they should work on increasing enforcement of the laws already on the books to prevent cruising in the left lane.

Since when are you forced to drive in the hammer lane? Only time I can think of is lane closures and obviously normal speed limits don't apply then. If you're not comfortable driving the speed limit, stay home or take a bus.

Exactly. As my Dad always says, "Car in gear...brain in neutral!".

Texas passed it earlier this year too, trust me some of the county officers didn't even know this was a law because they haven't been to their update courses yet. I told my fiance who's a deputy sheriff to pull over anyone in the left lane not passing and to not go easy on them.

Yes I am an evil son of a bitch, but she loves me and she said she's always hated when people do that and will now enforce the law...This is why I am not a LEO, I cannot handle POWA!

I stay in the left lane because I'm always passing SOMEONE. There isn't a time of day when I'm on the highway driving the limit or under the limit. I always drive 85+ because it just feels normal from the part of Texas I came from. I miss it too, but whatever...

Slow left lane drivers are the reason I don't keep a gun in my car

So if you're in the left lane then...
speed limit +1 mph = illegal
speed limit -1 mph = illegal

Can't get a ticket for going 1 mph over the speed limit. I think lowest starts at like 6 mph over here in fl

That law won't be as much help as one think it might be.

If the speed limit is 65, it will allow people to do 65 in the left lane.
That's still too slow for the left lane.
