Great write up!

Love my New Era OTR! Had it over a year now....and I can't wait to get out to the roc to let Mike work some magic on my LS3.

it's unfortunate because other than that, it's a great looking intake!

Surging/Bucking

Nutro / Autoagenda..

Nutro, I purchased my New Era from you and I am assuming it is this one you did a write up on.
The install was fine and as you have outlined in this post, however, I have had surging/bucking on my 2012 SS.
When holding a steady speed of up to 45mph, it is very noticeable.
While accelerating or higher speeds I do not seem to have an issue.

My MAF number is K17 (which if I recall indicates a 'STRONG' or valid MAF).
I have not done a tune and was hoping not to have to at this point.

I had to go back to the stock intake just to have the car drivable around town.

Is there anything that I may be missing or should take into consideration before I give up on this thing?

Have to agree, they should come up with a different area to mount.

Just a quick addition to this thread...

Note 1: If you have a FAST LSXR 102mm Intake Manifold on your Camaro, you will have to cut about 1/4" - 1/2" off the end of the tube to allow it to fit.

Note 2: Watch out for the upper radiator hose (located on the driver's side). When you tilt the radiator back, this hose can possibly touch the power steering pulley and quickly wear a hole through the hose. Ask me how I know...haha

Couple other things. The bug guard/water shield also works to divert air from flowing directly into the intake and causing problems, especially at idle. The MAF sensor location was revised (the intake in this thread has the revised location) in order to help tuning and idle issues. The location and orientation was specially chosen to work a certain way.

I've had my NEPI for about a year and love it.
