I'm told I'm missing a part. I ordered the part listed in the PDIM DIY and have the module + harness, but apparently there's an additional part needed (2092750). I've ordered that and will install it when it gets here. If they are correct the PDIM should then work.

So the part came in the mail today. Opened it up and suffice to say I was pretty pissed.

Anyway, I went on my way and installed it anyway hoping it would work and it did not. I noticed the service directors posts were all removed so I suppose I will call him today. At this point I really don't know what to do.

Edit: Spoke with Eric and he said it still needs to be programmed. I'm bringing it in Thursday.

Probably because he is a non sponsoring dealer. Can't discuss business as a dealer unless you pay.

As long as he is taking care of the problem, doesn't matter if he posts.

This is also what I assumed. Annoying but like you said, he is taking care of the problem.

Well... I dropped it off Thursday. They didn't get to it and kept it overnight. Friday they called and said they couldn't get it working and that the tech spent a while on the phone with GM. They went ahead and ordered parts (don't know which parts) and I believe it is all being done under warranty.

I suppose I'll hear more today when they call but I'm assuming the parts will not have come.

EDIT:

Called me back today and said the car was ready and that the iPodis now working. Said the problem was the "IPOD attachment had to be rewired" and I was charged labor for this ($171). I'd really love to know what this actually entailed because I hope they don't mean they had to connect a new wiring harness in the center console. In total: one wiring harness, two PDIM modules, one hour of programming labor + program fee, two hours of labor, one 'missing' iPod and several weeks later, a sour taste remains.

All that's left now is to send in the bill for the replacement iPod.

EDIT 2:

Anddddddddddd it don't work. Just save yourself the aggravation and don't bother going to East Hills. I remain completely convinced no one has any idea what is going on.

I had a good buying experience at HB. They were my first choice but were booked up on my day off. They will charge a bit more, though. I think I was quoted 230ish.

I believe Paul Conte's place should be able to do it. I believe RPO works there and is active on the boards. I would try PM'ing him.
