Nitrous and Vararam

Those of you who run nitrous and have a vararam CAI, can you please share details on how you did it? I've been looking at a few systems but am hoping not to have to switch intakes to run nitrous. Please post pics if you dont mind!

I'm about ready to get the plate conversion from TheNitrousOutlet, but right now I have an NX kit on it. I'll shoot you some pics of the two different setups once I get it done.

I was told direct from them that a plate kit may not fit. I do not remember for sure but I thought they said that there would be less than a half inch of play between the parts. Most systems, including ours have to be greater than that to have room for the nozzle. Please correct me if I am wrong- it would be great to have a plate system with this free flowing intake. HPftw

More than likely there will need to be some trimming involved when putting a plate on. The plate will space everything forward around 3/4in

I'm prepared to work with the plate just as I was prepared to do what it took to ensure the Black Ice worked with the Vararam. It turned out the Black Ice didn't need any modification. I'll let you know what I did, if anything, to get it to work.

What is your current setup? Any reason in particular your converting to a plate kit?

Currently have an NX kit on it and it's more of a desire to have the plate for better distribution. NitroDave and his group have some awesome LS-powered f-bodies running at our little track and they are some good people. There are a few other plates that are out, I'm just going with this one.

Okay, here's the deal.
I got to putting the plate on and yes, it did move it forward and lower. Since I already moved everything up with the black ice, it wasn't that it was too-low, it is too far forward.
Back when I bought the Vararam, mine wasn't sitting just right, so they sent me another lower piece, which I kept. Now I took that first piece and trimmed the neck 1/8" at first, then another 1/8". I marked it by wrapping a piece of tape around it and taking it over to the belt sander and sanding it down, cleaning it up, and then trying the fit. By taking 1/4" off that one, it fit. Tomorrow if I get the time I plan to repeat the process with the piece that fit right and I'll let you know how it goes.

Why not make a custom mount for the shark after the MAF housing?

It's put together. I'm going to wire up the window switch this weekend and see what she'll do.
