Is the Vette and ss the only cars with the 6.2l lt1 engine

Do any Chevy trucks etc have that same engine or is it specifically only the c7 and 6th gen ss.

It is an option in the Silverado LTZ 1500 and you can get it in the 2500. Should be an option for the Suburban in 19, I believe.

The truck engine is different. The only vehicles with the LT1 are the Corvette and SS.

My previous 2017 1LT and my wife's Caddy both had 3.6- V6's, but in no way, shape or manner were they the same. Not by a long shot.
I strongly suspect the same thing with 6.2 truck motors---being neutered; no snap.

The truck version of the 6.2 is engineered and tuned for hauling and trailering, the Camaro (and Corvette) version is obviously tuned for performance. Those are two very different intended uses, which reinforces the fact no one should be using their Camaro to trailer anything. Even a crate with an extra set of tires for the track. Nothing.

There's a few threads on here where people are asking about trailering with their Camaro, their thought process being "it's the same engine that's in the trucks so it must be ok to hook a trailer to the Camaro". No, it isn't. Big no-no.

Actually this is not fully correct. The truck 6.2L engine is the exact same as the Corvette/Camaro. Same block, rotating assembly, cam and heads. The only difference on the truck engine is the intake manifold, throttle body and exhaust manifolds.

The 6.2L engine in the Corvette/Camaro has no bearing on if the vehicle can tow, it is the car itself that determines that. It is a function of what weight the frame system can handle, are the brakes able to handle the extra load and so on.

The engine in the cars make a little more power and torque than the truck engine and it is just a bit higher in the RPM range, but the car engine is more than up to handling towing.

Now, Cadillac has the LT4 in the CTS-V.

The L86 used in the GMT K2xx platform is the same 5th gen small-block family, I think it's fair to say it's close enough to count here, as the main differences are the intake and exhaust manifolds, and tune, which aren't part of the long-block.

oops, TJay beat me to it.

It's not in the 2500's only the 6.0. I wish it was, they need a stronger gas engine option.

this + tune and you can not get a 6.2l in a 2500 or suburban. you can get it in the extended cab and crew cab 1500 LTZ and the Tahoe RST. you can get it in the GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon
