I was just kidding. I don't doubt there is a "Special" vette out there, I just don't think it is called the "Blue Devil". That is why they can deny it exists.

^ That's right. I get a feeling there's going to be a "Stingray" or "Z07". I had mentioned a while back that I asked Scott about the Blue Devil and he said he couldn't say anything about it and to please not ask any more questions...hehe. He did say GM didn't have anything in the works as a SS Corvette or a Blue Devil Corvette. My guess is that he was pointing us in the direction that it could be made, but under a different name.

Go figure, right...the little engine that could. I get into arguments all the time with some ricers at work, because GM still uses pushrod technologies. WELL, MAYBE CAUSE IT WORKS!!

I took this out of GM's site:

"Now comes the Gen IV Vortec V8s. Launched in 2005, the Gen IV engines deliver even greater efficiencies, with further refinement and more advanced technology. Once again they prove the doubters—the engineers and industry analysts who claimed the inherent advantages of cam-in-block engines could not be applied in the environmentally sensitive 21rst century—patently wrong. AFM cylinder de-activation delivers the power and performance of a V8 engine with new levels of fuel efficiency, and its full potential has yet to be realized. " Hell yeah!!

I'm a little confused by the inflation figures that were created by Casull that were upwards of 29000 so I calculated it for myself and figured I'd show you all.

23000*.03= 690 (year 1)
23690*.03= 710.7 (year 2)
24400.7 * .03= 732.021 (year 3)
25132.72 *.03= 753.98 (year 4)
25886.70 * .03= 776.6 (year 5)
26663.30 * .03= 799.89 (year 6)
27463.19 * .03= 823.89 (year 7)
28287.08 * 1.03 = $29153.61 after 8 years.

Just figured you'd like to see some real inflation figures but also be aware that inflation as of the past quarter has been creeping over 3% but Bernake is watching over it and is sure to do us well like Greenspan.

I'm looking to spend around 30k. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I really don't think the Z28 will be terribly expensive...I am positive. Well, no not really, but I hope to God...

If GM expects to sell upwards of 30,000 Z28's and SS's, they can't hike up the price too much. I always said I didn't think the price would go up that high. Sure, it's supposed to compete w/ the Mustang, but IDK. I don't see it going up that high...like maybe 35K for a top of the line. I could see a super special edition blown and all which must be priced upwards of 40K. But, the majority of the mid to upper level entry cars being made will be within a 29-35K area....I think...and hope.:o

Well, things are working out great for me and my wife! I just accepted a job offer yesterday for a new job that pays substantially better, and my wife got promoted a couple of weeks ago! Needless to say, my Camaro budget just grew !

LS3, here I come!

Congratulations!!!! Now maybe you can up the ante for the "special" Camaro engine ( if it is reality) instead of the LS3!!!

(sigh). If the prices end up being what they are guessed at, I'll be lucky if I get the Entry level V8 without selling my soul...(another sigh)
