I liked the fact the author pointed out about Green House gases (that man only contributes about 3% of them to the atmosphere!) Ever heard of climate change?? I do believe we are about due for one, so it makes sense. And the author also nailed it with oil being a finite resource, thus we still need alternate energy sources.

believe it or not, I test drove one a few weeks ago, has he NEVER heard of a CVT transmission before? Car rode fine, acceleration was slow but acceptable, noise was bad on acceleration, basic car was nicer than Fit, styling is nicer than Fit. For $20000 not bad if you want 40 mpg, some have got 70+ mpg on loop of various roads. I myself am getting a 2SS/RS, but would consider the Insight for City travel.

The reason that the insight looks like the Prius is that... the Prius sells more because of its goofy looks.

People like to be smug in their hybrids. Honda did a study, and spent money on the civic hybrid hoping that people would prefer a normal car's looks to the goofy pregnant roller skate look. But, people kept buying the Prius instead.

So, Honda's response is to have a hybrid that also looks like a "hybrid" in people's minds.
