How do you tell the difference between SS axles and the 1le?

For starters, 1/le axles are around 3/4” longer and the threads are thicker for the axle nut

Is everything else the same on these ( knuckle, inner shaft, spline count); I don't really see why one would be an advantage over the other; I'm guessing the same hub, same spline count; unless its the extra thread (if that's where they brake).. If the stock SS ones brake at the axle nut, then wouldn't it be safe to say that if you checked the torque on the nut occasionally, then you wouldn't have a problem. Just type thinking....

The difference between 1LE and SS axles is the outer CV. 1LE has 4.375 outer diameter and SS is only 4.0 I believe.
