GM has offered and continues to offer different grilles for the Camaro - not immediately, usually, but they do come. Even if they want to keep this as the stock grille (much as I disagree with that decision), a low-cost option for a body color-painted version of the black section with no pseudo-flowtie and the SS emblem & options for more traditional bowties in their normal places would I think go a long way to placating some of the outrage around here.
Given the majority opinions expressed so far, it'd be in their interest to accelerate that design & production process. |

Why is this bow-tie crowding the top?...I think it would look better one row down centered in the grille....

As mentioned, i would hate to live in a state that requires front tag. Only one spot to place. Where will a tag go if flowtag remains center? Would have to go on side.

Well.....132 votes to 5 currently.
So...anyone from GM seeing this yet? Maybe this needs to go more public.

Best one right here in post #22.

Most every site lit up yesterday with how hideous the CBS reveal was initially. These are not low budget cars where details don't matter so much. When transaction prices are in the mid $30's thru low $50's pending model, would think they would be paying attention. |

The as released fascia is terrible. I can handle the back, looks ok. I do think the black center strip with the bow tie in the upper grill looks good. Would look great that way on a 1LE.

What's even more telling is that Chevy chose to reveal it on some morning network tv show- the dinosaur media. I get that manufacturers think the big auto shows aren't worth the investment but c'mon. Zero excitement. I guess since they did it for the initial Gen 6 reveal maybe they see some metric we don't. Perhaps the dinosaur media audience is who Chevy is chasing now . . . Chevy's FB page has blown up over this. The autoblog comments are negative. The carscoop poll is not favorable. I am not holding my breath that anything will be done. I think GM wants to corporatize the Camaro's face. A dumbed down bone head mass audience as George Costanza would say. Why else would it look like a Toyota or Honda appliance? I just don't get how now it looks nothing like a Camaro. It has become a Malibu sport coupe. |

I do not think they have nefarious intentions. Just clueless designers or a design team that is missing the mark. Have read John Mack was in charge of this & the trucks? Ed Welburn retired in 2016, so was hoping for new design language. But what was shown yesterday morning is not what I had hoped for. Edit: & oh yeah, message boards, car sites, youtube etc overwhelmingly roasted this car yesterday. |
