Not allowed to test drive???
Has any one ever had an issue with the dealership where they refused to give you a test drive at all?
I was talking to a supposedly reputable dealership in my area and they said to me basically since it's a 455 HP corvette engine and it's real serious business I'll basically have to buy the car first and get the paperwork done before even getting the chance to test drive one. They also went off mentioning it'll probably be the same at Ford and Dodge too if I try to go for their Mustang/Challengers. Personally I found this to be a completely backwards mentality and apparently this message came from the manager himself.. Just regurgitated through the salesman over the phone. I found a deposit to be something more realistic but actual purchase beforehand? This isn't a GTR or lambo we're talking about.. With that being said I found out I have a possible connection through my brother in law so I'll see if that inside guy can pull some strings or help us out instead. Otherwise I'll let them know that I'm more than happy to take my business else where

Test drove the SS 2 times at 2 different dealerships before buying them, not a problem for me. (I am 22 years old and look like 16 years old).
I was rejected for test driving the Challenger Scatpack though. |

Sounds like you need a new dealership. No test drive = no sale.

That is ridiculous!! I would NEVER buy a car without test driving it, and any dealership that expects you too should be blacklisted.

Find another salesperson and/or dealership. The local dealers here even allow test drives with the ZL1. |

I drove 3 different SS's at the same dealer over the course of 9 months without a hitch. First time they slapped the dealer plate on and sent me and my girlfriend down the road on our own.
3rd time the sales rep said I could take the car home for a day or two if I wanted. I woulda' laughed in his face, and then went to another dealer.

I can assure you my record is squeaky clean
 Quick update. I spoke to my brother in laws friend who works there (only if I knew earlier) he told me that they shouldn't have done that and it may be to do with the new guy I was talking too. He told me to call a particular salesman and he'll be able to pull some strings for me. If that doesn't work out I'll be taking all your guys advice and give them the finger and maybe throw a turd at their window |

Seems like a dealership you don't want to deal with. I've test driven two 1LE's and a ZL1 with no issue.

2 dealerships offered to let me drive their ZL1 from the inside of their showroom. I took one of them up on the offer.
