In the UK, the vehicle licence, which is more commonly known as a tax disc, comes in the form of a paper disc three inches in diameter to be displayed on the vehicle, and is evidence that the necessary vehicle excise duty has been paid for the specific vehicle. I am here in Germany and I am going to drive it to England ( a ship will be used for part of the journey of course) But would I need a tax disc when I get there or are they only for cars registered in the UK?

Only need a Tax disc if you have UK Registered Plates or Cars.
If you are just a Visitor or on Holiday then you do not need one :-)
...as being part of the EU you have paid something similar at yhome already?

I'm actually an American here in Germany and being in the US ARMY we have tax exemptions from road tax...its kind of nice actually. I loved London though. I have never met more kind and helpful people in my life...it made me want to move there. Of course I was only there for 4 days but I loved it
